Avalon Market Day will return Sunday 17 November, with 40,000 people from across the Northern Beaches and further afield expected to descend upon the sleepy seaside village.

Over more than 30 years the event has grown to be the biggest community market day on the Northern Beaches, with 400 stalls selling everything from fashion, jewellery and craft, to pet accessories and Christmas gifts.

Hosted by the Avalon Palm Beach Business Chamber and supported by the Northern Beaches Council, the event will see Avalon Parade, Old Barrenjoey Road and Dunbar Park abuzz with music, food, market stalls, and local charities and clubs will be working hard to raise funds.

On the entertainment front, music director John Stone has crafted a line-up of talented local and Australian musical acts, including local school bands, dance troupes, choirs and bands.

Triple J Unearthed artists Georgie Currie and Keen’s Mustard will also be making an appearance to delight the crowds.

Grab a bite to eat from one of the village restaurants and cafes, or choose from over 20 food stalls and trucks in Dunbar Park, serving delicious dishes such as paella, burgers, poke bowls, ice creams and gozleme.

For the kids, there will be face-painting and showbags chocked full of goodies, along with carnival rides out the front of Avalon Public School.

Last but certainly not least, the annual Avalon Day Dog Show is back again this year, with Best Dressed, Best Trick and Best Dog in Show all set to be judged on market day.

Commencing at 9.30am on the main stage, ABC News presenter Juanita Phillips will be on hand as the MIC alongside the judging panel made up of Hon. Rob Stokes MP, the Hon. Jason Falinski MP and Northern Beaches Councillor Ian White.

To enter, simply bring your beloved pooch down on the day and provide a gold coin donation, the proceeds of which will go to SAFE Rehoming Animal Welfare.

Avalon Market Day will be held on November 19, 9am – 4pm, throughout the streets of Avalon and Dunbar Park. For more information, visit avalonmarketday.com.au
